Looking for a beautiful picnic area near me? Try Central Park’s Sheep’s Meadow, located between 69th and 66th streets. There are also several nearby restaurants including Tavern On The Green, Gastronomie 491 and Per Se. In Manhattan, you can find picnic areas near the Grand Central Market and the Ford Foundation Atrium. Whether you are looking for a secluded location or a popular tourist spot, you can find one near you.

    Table of Contents

    • McCarren Park
    • Brooklyn Bridge Park
    • Grand Central Market
    • Ford Foundation Atrium

    McCarren Park

One of the most beautiful areas of Brooklyn is the McCarren Park picnic area. Located on the border of Greenpoint and Williamsburg, McCarren Park contains recreational sports facilities and outdoor dining. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, family reunion, or just want to relax with friends, this park has a lot to offer. Come early in the morning to get the best view of the park, or stay late into the evening to relax and unwind with your family and friends.

Located in Brooklyn’s Greenpoint neighborhood, McCarren Park is 38 acres of natural beauty and public gathering spot. The park is home to a giant swimming pool and recently served as a popular concert venue. It’s also home to a multitude of ball fields and is a favorite among people of all ages. Whether you’re out for a family picnic or a romantic date, there’s no reason not to visit McCarren Park.

    Brooklyn Bridge Park

You can enjoy your picnic in the picnic area near the Brooklyn Bridge Park, an 85-acre work-in-progress along the East River waterfront. This park is the site of Pier 5 – a former shipping berth and now the third recreational pier – and a new pedestrian bridge connecting Brooklyn Heights to Pier 1 is scheduled to open this year. During the summer, Brooklyn Bridge Park attracts 90,000 visitors on a typical weekend.

The closest subway station to this park is Hoyt St., which is about a quarter mile away. You can walk to the park, but there are several places to eat nearby. The Brooklyn Grange is just next to the park and is an excellent spot for a picnic. The historic monument, Old Glory, is nearby. You can also grab a bite at the nearby Brooklyn Grange, a popular eatery and rooftop wine bar.

    Grand Central Market

A picnic is the perfect way to enjoy the city’s green spaces during the warmer months. You can find several outdoor areas in the area to enjoy your meal, including many hidden city gardens and quiet city parks. The area is also great for kids. Parents can pack a picnic basket with a variety of food for their children to enjoy. While you’re there, you can enjoy a picnic on a nearby lawn or on one of the many benches available in the park.

If you’re looking for a view of the Manhattan skyline, you can picnic at the Empire Fulton Ferry’s Picnic Grove. Enjoy lush lawns and the view of Lower Manhattan. This area is also a popular spot for the sunset. You can enjoy a picnic with a great view of the Statue of Liberty and other famous Manhattan landmarks. Located on the waterfront, it’s also close to a variety of restaurants and other attractions, including Jane’s Carousel.

    Ford Foundation Atrium

If you’re looking for an indoor picnic spot, the Ford Foundation atrium is the perfect option. This 12-story space features 39 subtropical plants and a reflecting pool. There are even plants that you can touch! The atrium is easily accessible by subway from Grand Central Terminal. Afterwards, you can relax at the picnic area. The only drawback is that it’s a little out of the way – be sure to bring your ID!

The atrium garden is open to the public and features nearly 40 species of plants. A reverberating fountain and reflective pool make for a memorable experience, and the garden includes a sensory section for visitors with limited vision. Braille signage and audio interpretation help those with impaired vision navigate the garden. There’s also a wheelchair-accessible path. It’s located in the southeast corner of the atrium.
